LUMBINI CABLE CAR

Enjoy a smooth Lumbini Cable Car journey surrounded by scenic landscapes leading to Maa Kamakhya and Durga temples.

The Lumbini Cable Car spans a 2.6-kilometer route, supported by nine towers, connecting Golpark in Butwal to Basantpur in Tinahu Rural Municipality, where the Kamakhya Devi Temple is located at an elevation of approximately 3200 feet. The system includes 25 passenger gondolas, each with the capacity to accommodate eight individuals at a time.

As per info, each gondola takes about 9-12 minutes to travel between stations, offering a quick and scenic ride for devotees and tourists. Designed for high capacity and efficiency, the cable car can transport up to 6,000 passengers daily. Like other cable car projects this one also blends spirituality, nature, and gentle adventure to add a new dimension to tourism in Lumbini Province.

Lumbini Cable Car Station: From Bamghat to Basantapur Hill

The spiritual journeys on Lumbini Cable Car end at the shrines of Maa Kamakhya and Maa Durga. But the journey is also a unique experience: The higher you go, the quieter it feels, with cooler air and a clearer view of the forests and farmlands of the Western plains. The cable car transports visitors from the din and bustle of the lowlands to a more peaceful, cooler spiritual setting.

KAMAKHYA TEMPLE

Maa Kamakhya is another manifestation of Shakti as does Goddess Durga. Both dieties are believed to embody strength, wellbeing, righteousness and protection, among others.
