The Jalpadevi Cable Car Project, scheduled to become operational in early 2026, is a landmark tourism and infrastructure development located in Chisapani, Kailali, in Nepal’s Far-western Province. Spanning 3.1 kilometers, the cable car will feature 40 modern gondolas, offering visitors a 10-minute scenic journey above forested hills rising from the flatlands. The base station will include a hotel, casino, banquet hall, and cable car facilities, while the hilltop station will host a luxury resort, the Jalpa Devi Temple, skywalk, walking trails, restaurant, and a children’s park.

An estimated investment of NRs 5 billion, the base station will feature a cable-car terminal, hotel, casino, and banquet hall, while the hilltop station plans include a resort, temple, skywalk, walking trails, restaurant, and a children’s park.
The project will offer panoramic views of the Karnali River, the Chure Hills, and Bardia National Park. It also benefits from its strategic proximity to the Nepal–India border and the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, positioning it to attract a large number of Indian tourists, in addition to domestic and international visitors. This development is expected to significantly boost tourism, generate local employment, and contribute to sustained socio-economic growth in Nepal’s Far-western Province.
